Did you know that you can park free after 5pm M-F and all day Saturday and Sunday in university lots?!
Ideally, you should enter campustown from Springfield/6th to avoid student traffic on Green Street. You can access the public and university decks more efficiently following this advice. If you enter campustown on Green street, you should turn on Wright (from East) and 4th (from West) to avoid congestion at Green/5th and Green/6th.
If you frequent campustown often, you might want to consider a cash key for meter parking! It is very convenient and saves you from parking tickets.
General Public Lot:
Lot J is located at Sixth and Green Streets with the entrances located on Green and Healey streets.
- New automated pay-stations in Lot J makes parking your vehicle virtually hassle free! Pay-stations are located at the south and east end of the lot.
- Enforcement hours: Monday thru Friday, 7:30 AM – 11:00 PM, Friday thru Saturday, 7:30 AM – 1:30 AM, SUNDAY – Not Enforced.
- Parking is prohibited in the lot between the hours of 2 am and 5am. Vehicles parked in the lot between these hours will be ticketed and towed.
Forty (40) spaces in the northwest section of the lot are reserved for permit parking only. Vehicles parked in these spaces must display a City of Champaign permit or risk being ticketed and towed.
